CMO cagers suffer loss

THE City Mayor's Office succumbed to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), 84-85, in the opener of the 2003 AFP-PNP Olympics basketball tournament at the Bankerohan covered court Tuesday night.

Abraham Campomanes and Brendon Espa¤ola scored identical 24 points each to lift BJMP's victory in the cagefest that was formally opened by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Lawyer Marvin "Oying" Melodias also canned 24 markers for the Mayors as teammates Junel Avenda¤o added 19, Arnel Oguio 13, Bong Go 12 and Paul Pagas with 10.

The 73rd Infantry Battalion (IB) waylaid Task Force Davao, 80-72, as Ramir Faustino topscored with 18 points while the PNP Regional Unit sank Philippine Navy, 100-64, with Anthony Padua scoring 21.

The National Support Unit shot down the Philippine Air Force 79-75 as skipper Edwin Josol sizzled with 26 markers.

The cagefest is part of the "Pahalipay ni Mayor sa Pasko" program. It is organized by the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office and sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines Region 11. MLS
