To exercise or not to exercise By Marissa Te Eng Fo
FLABS, fats and "bilbil." Ouch!!! What with the holidays around the corner, food, munchies and booz my lovelies... too much of a good life swells you up from chest downwards.
And believe me, dahlins, not a site to behold! I for one is forever on diet and exercise. Vanity thy name is woman as they say! Although I am more of a kick boxing and boxing sort-of-a-gal, a fan of Chuck Norris designed boxing gloves I use to sweat those glands, let's talk no-body-bulk toning.
And thy name is PILATES (pee-lah-tess). Named after World War 1 prisoner Joseph Pilates.
This genius who was trained as a nurse felt he could do more helping the patients thru exercise decided to design machines that could assist patients mobilize their bodies by strengthening the muscles, toning them thru use of body weight. Pilates is a combined exercise of yoga using the Zen principle of discipline and Gina Suelto adds ballet for flexibility.
It is the exercise without getting bulky so girl-na-girl pa rin for the ladies.
For golf enthusiasts and badminton players, it adds endurance, strength, great posture, perfect movements!!! Well my lovelies, Ian Mari Micabalo, Girlie Royeca, and Gina Suelto of Pointework Dance and Art Center and Art Center for Pilates along Valencia Corporate Center, Jacinto, Davao City design Pilates exercises. Don't break a leg, but if you do they do have a physical therapist to fix you up!
Well my dahlins, we have got to move those bodies as the food season is here! Enjoy eating this holiday season! But not too much. Toodles!
