More infra projects accomplished this year
By Aurea A. Gerundio

MORE infrastructure projects were accomplished within the first three quarters this year, compared to last year.

City Engineers Office (CEO) Chief Meinrado Metran said CEO completed 713 infrastructure projects from January to September this year.

"Funded projects were accomplished four times the accomplishments for the same period in 2002. Last year, 711 projects were developed," Metran said.

Metran said barangay roads and rural water supply system maintenance were intensified at 130.25 percent and 21.98 percent respectively.

"In the motorpool operation, repair and maintenance accomplishments improved by 64.98 percent despite our aging equipment and miscellaneous rural services, such as burial requests," Metran said.

Metran said CEO is still undertaking project accomplishment backlogs, and that with the Bidding and Award Committee, it shall fast-track implementation of projects in 2004.
