Garcia golfest set

THE 34th Leon Garcia Memorial Inter-Club Caddies Golf Tournament is set on December 22 at the Davao City Golf Club.

Organizers bared on Tuesday six divisions are entered in the one-day tournament sponsored by the heirs of the late Mayor of Davao City, lawyer Leon A. Garcia Sr.

These are the professionals, seniors (55 years old and above), 18-above, 13 to 17, nine to 12 and umbrella girls divisions.

A 14-inch color television is the hole-in-one prize while grocery items are at stake for the top five placers in each category.

Side events include a singing, dance, beauty, and Binibining Caddy contests that offer cash prizes to the winners.

Parlor games will also be featured. Participants will come from the Apo Golf and Country Club, Davao City Golf Club, Lanang Golf and Country Club, Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

Imee Garcia is this year's over-all chairperson, Jorge Garcia and George Pineda will serve as tournament directors while Philippine Sports Commissioner Leon Gonzalo "Binggoy" Montemayor and Anthony del Rosario are in-charge of the ways and means committee.

The heirs of the late Mayor are Patria Montemayor, Magdalena Pineda, lawyer Leon Garcia Jr., former rep. Manuel Garcia, Amado Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Milagros del Rosario and Arthur Garcia. MLS
