Business Bureau notes increase in collection
By Christie Enriquez-Uayan

COLLECTIONS from business taxes and permit fees in the city as of November this year registered an eleven percent increase, Business Bureau Chief Erwin Alparaque said Monday.

A total of P268 million was collected from business taxes, while P32 million was collected from permit fees, said Alparaque. He said the Bureau surpassed this year's collection target of P250 million.

There were 26,700 applications for new business permit and renewals this year, 6,000 of which were applications for new business permits, setting a 16 percent increase. Most of the new registrants are small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Alparaque attributes the income increase to the city's stable peace and order condition.
