Sadako: Claudine, Korina heading for the altar soon? By Sadako As In!
CLAUDINE Barretto and her boyfriend of over a year, Raymart Santiago, are engaged to be wed either a year or two from now.
Piolo Pascual's leading lady in Star Cinema's pre-Valentine offering, "Milan," herself confirmed this bit of information at the film's presscon the other night, saying Raymart had already asked her hand in marriage November last year yet.
Claudine and Raymart marked their first year as a pair that same month. The pricey diamond ring the actor gave Claudine on her birthday last July also served as their engagement ring, the actress said. "Ito na 'yon.
Hindi na kailangang bumili pa siya ng iba," Claudine told writers.
The sweethearts plan to tie the knot late 2005 or early 2006 as the prospective bride's work calendar until next year would be so hectic it won't leave them enough time to prepare for the wedding.
"The wedding preparations will take so much time. So, most likely, mga early 2006 pa kami magpapakasal. Before, I wanted a wedding in Cancun, Mexico, but I realized it would be better pa rin kung sa simbahan gagawin. We don't have concrete plans yet because after `Milan,' I'll be doing a new soap titled `Marina and probably one more movie," Claudine said.
"Marina" will run for five seasons (one season has 13 weeks) with a newcomer and probably F4's Jerry Yan among the actress' leading men.
When asked what qualities does Raymart possess that won Claudine's nod, she replied, "He's very family-oriented. As in sobrang close sila ng mommy niya, mga kapatid niya, buong pamilya niya. Eh, di ba, sabi nila, kung paano raw magmahal ang isang lalaki sa parents niya, ganun din ang magiging pagmamahal niya sa sarili niyang pamilya?"
Over and above this, Claudine continued, she believes that Raymart is "God's best blessing to me. As of this moment," she went on, "I could say that I'm very happy. He's too good to be true after all I've been through. Ang importante sa kanya lagi'y kung ano ang gusto ko kesa kung ano ang gusto niya. Raymart is like Piolo's character in our movie. Close to home talaga ang papel niya (Piolo)."
"Milan," directed by Olivia Lamasan, is basically the love story of Jenny (Claudine), a strong-willed Filipina working in Milan for a while, and Lino, an abandoned husband who searches for his wife, Mary Grace, in that romantic city in Italy. It is scheduled to have a premiere showing at SM Megamall on Feb. 10 with a series of other premiere screenings in San Francisco on Feb. 13, Abu Dhabi on Feb. 19, Dubai on Feb. 20 and Milan on Feb. 22. Regular Metro Manila run begins Feb. 11.

In another wedding issue, seems there are rumors that popular broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez is herself getting engaged middle of this year to equally popular politician Mar Roxas!
A source has revealed that while the pair's romance may be relatively new, they seem to be so in love with each other that they are already thinking of settling down sometime January next year.
The couple's relationship, though quite discreet, is an open secret in showbiz circles. In fact, most of those who are aware of it are in favor of the match.
"Bagay kasi sila, eh. I'm sure marami-rami ang magugulat 'pag magkatuluyan sila, pero 'di hamak naman na mas marami ang matutuwa. Finally, nahanap na rin nila ang kanilang match. Sana nga, matuloy na ang kasalan," a source remarked. All we can say is, Korina deserves to be happy!

Still another wedding item -- Korina's "Morning Girls" co-host Kris Aquino gave viewers a peek at one of "The Buzz's" explosive features this Sunday in Wednesday's edition of her and Korina's morning talk show: that former live-in partner, action star Phillip Salvador had gotten married in the US.
According to Kris, she learned about the news only through a text message. "Siguro, kumuha ng divorce sa Amerika tapos nagpakasal," she said.
As we all know, Phillip's marriage to US-based wife Sony Dabao has yet to be annulled. The girl whom Phillip allegedly wed reportedly wants to present herself to dispel rumors that she's plain-looking and a lot older than her "husband."
Kris allegedly told her that if she wants an interview, she (Kris) could very well do it herself for "The Buzz" because the way she'd handle the issue would indicate if she's truly over eight-year-old son Joshua's dad or not. Attagirl, Kris!
