Chin-Chin's Uyayi
By Marissa Te Eng Fo

WATCH and hear Chin-Chin Gutierrez croon her UYAYI, a Tagalog word for lullaby.

The Davao Museum Foundation has been sending out invitations to "heritage" benefactors to watch the show.

Chin-Chin reportedly traveled from village to village to research on these mothers' lullabies. It took three years of hard work.

What drown the world-renowned actress to work on this multi-ethnic Pinoy baby-rearing melody?

She wants to awaken our cultural energy, she said.

Chin-Chin sings the uyayi in different dialects. Though unknown to some, the universal language of music sends thunders to the heart.

Nothing can beat the soothing rhythm created by our mother's first songs to us.

For those who take their mothers for granted, time to change.

Ciao! Till next!
