City won't suffer from water shortage: DCWD
THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) on Saturday said that Davao City will not suffer the same fate of some areas in Luzon with regards to water supply.
Dominador Lopez, manager of DCWD's commercial department, assured Dabawenyos that the city has enough water for the next years.
"In fact, we have an oversupply of water here in Davao City and this would last for the next several years...the city will not have any shortages when it comes to water supply," Lopez said.
Lopez added that the water utility company will be expanding its operations this year with the construction of additional water wells and pumping stations.
"2004 is infrastructure year. We will be building additional wells, pumping stations and another reservoir that would serve our clients in the city's northern part," Lopez said. "This would further improve our system and our services to the people of Davao City," he added.
Lopez explained that the new reservoir, which will be located in Panorama Homes in Buhangin, will be able to store more than 6 million liters of water. Coupled with the newly installed wells and stations, Lopez said that the city will enjoy continuous water even during peak water usage hours. CIO
