Jimmy Vista at GenLuna Gallery
By Ana Felicia Dulay

MINDANAO reflections of Jimmy Vista is the highlight of Tanay-based Kulay-sa-Tubig-Hall-of-Famer artist at the Genluna Gallery in Davao City last Feb. 19.

The exhibit lasted from ten days, with Vista's masterly strokes showing off a study of gentleness and subtlety, an intricate weave of light and texture, surface and material.

In this exhibit, he showcases 15 new watercolor works of Mindanao's rustic scenes and its bounty in big and small sizes.

Adjudged as one of the country's best watercolorists, Vista is a three-time grand prize "Kulay-sa-Tubig" awardee who has been elevated to the hall of fame and is noted for his "poetic interpretation" of life on his canvass. His paintings expressively capture the cool, quiet beauty of nature and the realism of familiar objects such as jars, mangoes, coconut, corn and the ubiquitous bahay kubo.
