Bomb victims, kin get assistance from city

FAMILIES of casualties and survivors of the Davao International Airport bombing last year continue to get financial and education assistance from the city, City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) head Marilyn Agonia said Wednesday.

Agonia said Duterte's programs, including the educational assistance program, continue for qualified beneficiaries.

Based on the CSSDO records, there are a total of 135 victims of the DIA bombing on March 4 last year, which include 22 dead and 113 injured.

Qualified families of each dead victim received P50,000 assistance, while the injured persons received P10,000 each.

"Last December 10, when families of the bombing victims gathered at the Davao Convention Center to celebrate Christmas, Mayor Duterte also gave P10,000 each for the bombing victims as his Christmas gift," Agonia said.

With regards to the beneficiaries of the government's educational assistance, Agonia said that the college students will continue to receive P20,000 yearly,
P7,000 for high school students and P4,000 for elementary students.

CSSDO records bared a total number of 103 students received educational assistance.

However, the number already includes the beneficiaries of the victims of the Sasa Wharf bombing on April 2, which killed 17 people and injured 73 others. AAG
