Butcher hurt in gang riot
By Rex C. Otero

AN 18-YEAR-OLD butcher at the Agdao public market is in critical condition after he was shot in the back during a gang riot along the junction of Lapu-lapu and Leon Garcia streets in Agdao, Davao City, Friday night.

Wounded was one Antonio Mariano alias Muymuy, member of the 24 Oras Gang, resident of R. Castillo Street, Agdao.

Based on the investigation of PO3 Valentin Reboquio, of the Sta. Ana police station, Mariano and nine other gang members were watching bingo games in the same place when a rival group of about 30 from the Silak Gang arrived at around 10:30 p.m.

The group, led by one alias Ome and Tisoy, were looking for one alias Boyet of the 24 Oras Gang.

When they noticed Boyet, Tisoy allegedly pulled his caliber .38 revolver and fired twice at him but missed.

Other members of the 24 Oras Gang scampered for safety. Ome then allegedly fired his gun towards the fleeing group, hitting Mariano in the back. Responding police failed to arrest the suspects.
