Eman, Saldua can boost DC
By Romeo F. Sabaldan

TOGETHER with Eder John Saldua, prized slotman Samigue Eman can complete the make-up of a team that can compete with the best of the Luzon and the Visayas basketball squads in the 2004 CHED National Palaro, which is scheduled April 23-30 in Bacolod City.

This was the firm belief intimated by Abraham Verdeprado, team manager of the Holy Cross of Davao College Crusaders recently.

Setting aside hidden animosities created by long years of rivalry in basketball between two of Davao's top collegiate teams, Verdeprado declared, "I would rather say that these two noted players will really boost our chances in this national championships."

Verdeprado had expresed hopes that Engr. Joaquin Sarabia and Atty. Manny Nitorreda will be able to work it out with Holy Cross a team that can be united for the good of the city and the neighboring Davao regions.

Referring to 6'9" Eman and the slippery 6'3' point guard Saldua, who had been earlier signed up by BAP and RP Cebuana Lhuillier to the national training pool, Verdeprado said "this is not only good for the city, but also for them to leave a mark before finally movng up to the national team."
