| RESIDENTS of barangays Mainit and Bukal in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley boarded a truck as they returned to their homes early morning Tuesday. About 100 families earlier fled their homes after text messages circulated warning residents of an impending volcanic eruption in the area. |

TEXT messages circulated through mobile phones in the past two days about a volcano in Barangay Bukal, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley that supposedly will erupt soon sent more than 100 families from two barangays in this town to evacuation centers.
The provincial government had to bring in officials from the Office of Civil Defense and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in the wee hours of the morning to convince fearful residents that there is no volcano in the province of Nabunturan.
