Teachers hailed for election service By Ben O. Tesiorna
DEPARTMENT of Education 11 Director Diamar Kadon Wednesday congratulated all teachers who served during the May 10 elections for a job well done.
Overall, Kadon said, the teachers' performance was satisfactory amid accusation by some sectors of a widespread cheating during the Election Day.
Kadon said so far there were no formal complaints filed against any teachers in the region in relation to their poll duties.
He admitted three teachers were accused in Compostela valley of alleged anomalies, but these were never proven.
"One teacher was accused of allowing a watcher to read the ballots. Yung isa naman pinaratangan na sya daw yung pumatay ng ilaw during the ballot counting. All of these were however very minor incidents," Kadon said.
He said despite these minor accusations, he believed that the teachers accused were innocent.
It was learned that of the more than 37,000 teachers all over the region, 80-86 percent served in the May 10 elections.
