LTFRB isn't issuing new PUV franchises
THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Monday warned the public against some unscrupulous individuals who promise to give them franchise for their public utility vehicles for a fee.
Edgar Violan, LTFRB 11 administrative officer, said they received numerous complaints from several individuals regarding the "franchise for sale" offered by some people with a price ranging from P25,000 to P35,000 each.
Violan said they have also stopped applications for "dropped franchises". Dropped franchises are those surrendered by franchise owners to LTFRB.
He said the LTFRB en banc issued Dec. 2 last year a memorandum effecting a nationwide moratorium on the issuance of permit for franchise on all public vehicles except for the trucks for hire.
He said they issued the memo for inventory on all motor transport vehicles throughout the country. BOT
