Sports shorts: Medatta qualifying meet set this month
PREPARATIONS are underway for the Medatta Qualifying Elimination Tournament slated this month, according to Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) president Friendee Nuñez.
He said details of the tournament, however, will be finalized on Monday yet.
Nuñez said, "The elimination is for the Medatta Table Tennis Championships in December."
Nuñez added only Medatta members who have paid the monthly dues this month can join the elimination round.
Special Olympics up at DSA Forum
THE coming Mindanao Special Olympics will be discussed when the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum resumes on Thursday at the Tower Inn.
Organizers Dr. Tom Jamora and Dr. Vitto will tackle details of the event in the weekly sports forum co-sponsored by Tower Inn and Ad and Promo Management.
Joining them in the panel are city councilor Leonardo Avila III, James Infiesto, Peter Tidoy, Boy Ramos and Felix Maceda.
Avila will brief DSA members on the Flight of the Eagles, Infiesto and Tidoy will talk about the Ajedrez sa Spazio Active Chess Open while Ramos and Maceda will discuss the GET golf tournament. MLS
