Saturday, August 21, 2004 MTS: Mao 'ning Dabaw By Marissa S. Te Eng Fo
AS OPERATIONS man Gene Arcena had inspired me, Matina Town Square this city has a culture of its own. I have then labeled it uniquely Davao. Let me share with you the MTS set of principles:
Equitable development, since the policies promote balanced opportunities for all doubled by Community Spirit that really speaks of genuine assistance, respect for all thru peaceful co-existence with Wholesome Fun inspiring unity in diversity, artistic freedom but never irresponsible as it adheres to law and order.
MTS believes in Distinct Business Culture as the company preaches the practice of healthy competition and collaboration rather than unfair competition amongst its members and continue to encourage and endorse Davao City's dynamism, uniqueness and progressive outlook as they encourage to show off our Local Pride thru offerings of rich varieties of exotic, delectable and affordable food and drinks; world standard products. But not to forget their Concern for the Environment. It is the only business establishment of its kind that has a park where people are free to walk and enjoy nature. Not only can we enjoy the aesthetics of it but also become aware of our responsibility as proper waste and disposal management plan has also been implemented. Have you ever been to the restrooms? It is one of the cleanest and well appointed. One of the best services that it offers is the safety and security that is in place. It has a public safety outpost and a police outpost outside the perimeter.
Davao's version of Starbucks, Blugr? takes centerstage as you drive up with newly openned Impit Purok to your left. Taboan, decorated with many treasures such as costumes, drums, spears and more and found only in Davao, is a center for cultural attractions featuring Davao artists. Taboan also has a food court with Asian Fusion cuisine, O'lagi, Davao BBQ and more while the Courtyard and Strip offers to show case visual artists.
The Park Plaza has scheduled performances too. There are several offerings at MTS from books/magazine outlets to souvenir shops to medical clinics beauty salon for men and women and more. It is a place where families can have a good wholesome fun and children can go to the playground and possible eat halo-halo and just have a great time. Let's not forget Kanto Bar known for its jazz, blues, atbp. As one can enjoy and watch the huge screen showing your favorite sportsman (the likes of Tiger Woods) or a very recent concert in New York or listen to a jazz band on stage, it is quite refreshing and relaxing to also try the very tasty delectable food inspired by Food and Beverage chief Lisa Nitorreda-Tonogbanua.
It is a place uniquely Davao and a pride to all Dabawenyos.
