Montaña shocks Braves

MONTAÑA Pawnshop shocked North Cotabato Braves, 66-52, Thursday night to barge into the finals of the 2004 Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament which starts at the Almendras Gym today.

Montaña, the elimination round fourth-placer which held a 2-3 record before playing its crossover semi-final match, ended Cotabato's five-game win-streak.

Montaña arranged a best-of-three titular showdown with Digos Mayor's cagers, who downed the Duterte Agilas, 74-64, in another game.

Roger Tibudan fired 17 points to lead scoring for Montaña while teammates Arturo Atablanco and Christopher Jatico combined for 10 points.

Perennial rivals Cotabato and Agilas will clash in their battle for third at 5 p.m. today. Game One of the Montaña-Digos finals series will follow at 6:30 p.m.
