3-on-3 basketball fest reset
BIGGER prizes, more teams and side events will be up as organizers reset the first-ever USA Sports 3-on-3 Jam on November 20 and 21 at the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Matina sports complex.
The 3-on-3 was originally slated October 2. USA Sports spokesperson Maeshyl Sia said: "We added an open division for non-varsity players and we are retaining the elite high school and elite college categories."
Sia, who guested at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday, said champions in all divisions will receive P4,000 cash prize from the original stake of P3,000.
"Our side events inlcude the buzzer beater and three-point shootout for the media. But the shootout is limited to only 10 participants," Sia said.
She said they organized the 3-on-3 competition instead of the usual basketball tournament since it is "more street-side".
"The tournament will also mark the coming out of our new basketball line," Sia added.
Close to 60 teams are expected to vie for honors in the two-day event managed by the Top Sports Advantage Inc. MLS
