Villafuerte vs SOS U-14 soccerfest semis
By Marianne L. Saberon

THE Red Ribbon U-14 Football Tournament resumes Saturday with two semi-final matches at the Tionko grounds in Agro compound.

The Charlie Cayog-coached Calinan, bannered by Villafuerte Elementary School, clashes with SOS Children's Village of coach Leonor "Wowie" Satorre -- the PFF 2004 Senior Women's Football Championship MVP.

Emar Learning Center, mentored by veteran Rafael "Pops" Vilela, collides with Danny Boy Fernandez-coached Holy Child School of Davao (HCSD) A in the other semis match.

Cayog will rely on key striker Cris Nel Jhon Galliaga, who registered four goals in the elimination round while Satorre will lean on the services of league's second highest scorer Hearty Jay Pitalgo (14 goals) and Andrew Polistico (seven goals).

Vilela's wards Darwin Salabia and Carl Geneva, who scored a total of 11 and five goals, respectively, thus far, will are the main booters for tea.

Coach Fernandez, for her part, will have top scorer Ken Hager (15 goals), Gino Occena (nine goals) and Wilfredo Basan (nine goals) as frontliners.

HCSD A averages 11 goals a game while Emar usually records 10 goals in a game. Thus, an inevitable thrilling action is expected in their encounter.

All semis teams, according to a Davao Football Association (DFA) official, never conceded a goal to their opposing teams in the elimination.
