Dividina tops tablenet elims

DANILO Dividina edged Novem Isidor, 3-2, to emerge champion in the Medatta Monthly Elimination at the S.I.R. Elementary School over the weekend.

This was bared by Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) president Friendee Nuñez in text messages to Sun.Star Davao Tuesday.

Nuñez said Dividina and Isidor along with third and fourth placers Antonio Palban and Omar Mabiscay will advance to the grand championship in December.

"The top four placers will enter the December finals since we didn't have an elimination last month," Nuñez said.

Meanwhile, Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (Tatap) regional director and Davao City councilor Peter Laviña reminded Nuñez Monday to look for a lot where they can construct a table tennis center.

Laviña told reporters gathered at the City Hall, "We're still looking for a lot for a table tennis center. I would initiate for its funding from the Sangguniang Panlungsod."

Laviña and Nuñez are still finalizing details of an upcoming table tennis tournament that would be held in one of the city's malls. (MLS)
