Corteza to play in Las Vegas

DAVAO City's Lee Vann Corteza will play against world-class cue artists in the Sudden Death 7-Ball in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 5 and 6.

The 25-year-old Corteza, Asian 9-ball Tour Manila champion and bemedaled Southeast Asian (SEA) Games player, will be the lone Filipino campaigner as 2004 World Pool champion Alex Pagulayan will play for Canada.

Corteza said in text messages to Sun.Star Davao Friday: "I'll be playing against Alex, Earl Strickland, Mika Immonen, Rodney Morris, Thorsten Hohmann, Corey Deuel and Ralf Souquet."

He admitted the opponents are a heavy cast but Corteza said he will hope for the best. MLS
