3 killed, 2 others wounded in ambush

THREE men died while two others were injured when the vehicle they were riding was attacked by armed men Wednesday night in Sultan Matsura toen in Maguindanao province.

Those killed were identified as Nasrodin Suwaib, 27, Esmael Suwaib, 32 and Norlynbai Asmarodin, 19 while those injured were identified as Abdulah Suwaib, 47 and Said Asmarodin, 36.

The victims, according to the Maguindanao police, were onboard an owner-type jeep from Cotabato City on its way to Sultan Matsura.

Upon reaching Barangay Tampo in Sultan Matsura at around 9:20 p.m., unidentified armed men peppered them with bullets using M14 and M16 armalite rifles.

Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine whether family dispute was the motive for the crime.
