Rhythm and Wheels By Jasper Huang High Speed
THE last Rhythm and Wheels was a big success. People poured into Club Octane and Plaza de Luisa to witness one of the biggest parties of the year. It was a car show, a sexy dancing competition, a wet t-shirt competition and lots of games, all rolled into one super show!
The contest for the car show started at 11 p.m., with Kenneth Sy and George Ducase picking the Best Show Car and Best Suv of the night.
In the end, Michael Derla of Genesis88 got the judges' nod for the Best Show Car of the night, while Bart Capundag of Aw2spec was awarded first runner up. Rad Ong of Dasi/SpeedLimits bagged the trophy for Best SUV with his multimedia loaded Isuzu Trooper.
After the car show, the crowd was given a sound trip, the first ever sound-off competition. Competing for the sound-off title were some of Davao's loudest cars.
The competition was divided into two categories, the private and the jeep category. You could tell that this was one of the most awaited part of the event as the whole street was filled with spectators dancing to the tunes and cheering for their bets. Cocoy of Peak Power added another trophy to his collection by winning the sound-off for the private car category with his blue pickup. While Elmer of Kar Odyo won the jeep category and rocked the Villa Abrille street with his fully loaded jeep.
Still the party did not end. After the crowd had their fill of looking at the souped up and dressed up cars, the wet
t-shirt competition began and eight gorgeous and daring ladies from the crowd took the stage to vie for the title of "the lady of the night".
After the show I had a chance to talk to two of the winners Rad Ong and Michael Derla. They were very pleased with the event and plan to add more goodies to their cars to be able to defend their title's in the next car show. Rhythm and Wheels 3 will be coming up most probably this December. And from the outcome of the past two Rhythm and Wheels, you can count on the next show to be even hotter and wilder than the last.
Watch out for the upcoming Rhythm and Wheels 3! It's something you wouldn't want to miss. And if you missed the show last week, too bad you missed out on a really wild party! I'm sure a lot of guys would agree with me on that.
I will be featuring the car show champion Michael Derla's winning entry next week along with his skylines...watch out for it. Till next week. Happy Motoring.
