Forum on new business models, trends tomorrow

WHAT is the primary business model of the Philippines? What is fueling our economic growth? Where should position to capture wealth in the future? What is the comparative advantage of the Philippines today? How can I adapt m business to fit the "new" Philippines? Who are today's winners and losers in the face of globalization?

These and more, including how to run one's family business, are some of the topics to be tackled by Antonio B. Herbosa, principal of the corporate finance division of the Punongbayan and Araullo accounting firm during a rare presentation in Davao City this Wednesday at the Grand Menseng Hotel.

Entitled "The Philippines in Transition: New Business Models and Emerging Trends" will be presented during lunchtime on Wednesday jointly by five business, socio-civic and professional organizations namely the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCI), Ambassadors Club International of Davao, the Rotary Club of Durian City, Rotary Club of Matina Davao and Rotary Club of South Davao.

DCCCI president Sofronio "Boy" Jucutan said Herbosa's talk is specifically relevant for entrepreneurs who are looking for feasible alternatives of their capital and would like to venture into more profitable business activities.

"The forum is aimed at making business practitioners rethink their operating models considering highly relevant and high impact trends that shape the future of the country," Jucutan said.

Interested Dabawenyos who are not members of the co-hosting organizations are also welcome to witness the rare presentation. A minimal fee of P215.00 will be charged to participants to cover lunch and handout materials.

Rotarians can also make up on attendance with any of the three co-hosting Rotary clubs co-hosting the affair.

For confirmation and inquiries, interested parties are advised to contact Ms. Herma Joy Herrera or Ms. Ana Liza Samorro at 221-7515 or 300-2198.
