Knights, Ebocci in 1-1 standoff
By Marianne L. Saberon

THE Knights Football Club (FC) kept the lead in the team standings even after a 1-1 standoff with Ebocci in their DFA Cup division 1 match at the Tiongko field Sunday afternoon.

Allan Ray Fernandez found the net in the 13th minute for the Knights but Ebocci striker Rolito Mendez countered in the 20th for the equalizer.

The Knights recorded three wins and one draw for a total of 10 points while Ebocci placed third with two wins and one-draw for seven points.

Hambusa, which routed Davao United 6-2, grabbed the second spot with nine points for three wins and one loss.

In football, a win is equivalent to three points while a draw is good for one point.

Hambusa's Bonifacio Mangga sizzled with five goals (9th, 29th, 39th, 66th, 74th) to become the top-scorer in the league thus far with a total of seven goals.

Roberto Salucot had one goal in the 15th minute for Hambusa.

Davao United relied on Jayric Iligan and Jason Mortillero who scored in the 26th and 76th minutes, respectively.

Medvil drew with Real El Solido, 1-1, in another match.

Medvil's Peter Ian Mortillero struck in the 53rd while Richard Mortillero of Real El Solido tied the match in the 65th.

Medvil has one win, one draw and one loss while Real El Solido has three losses and one draw.

The Columbia Computer Center remains at the bottom with three losses.

Matches will resume on Sunday.
