Traffic office to auction off impounded trisikads
By Aurea A. Gerundio

NEWLY installed Traffic Management Center (TMC) Chief Celso Gempesaw bared Wednesday their plan to auction off impounded trisikads at the TMC office.

Gempesaw said he had already ordered for the inventory of the impounded units.

"There are not less than a thousand trisikad units na nakatambak sa TMC kasi nagsimulang manghuli noong first term pa ni Mayor (Rodrigo) Duterte in 2001. If we auction off the impounded trisikads, then the city would even earn from those junks. Sayang naman kung hayaan lang na mabulok ang mga 'yan," Gempesaw said.

Gempesaw said these impounded units will no longer be returned to the owners.

He said there are some units that are still in good condition.

"Ang iba kinakalawang na pero marami pa rin ang okay pa. Kung ibebenta ito, may additional funds na ang TMC," Gempesaw said.

Meanwhile, Gempesaw said that the inventory of TMC personnel is still ongoing.

Gempesaw earlier said that 50 traffic officers will be replaced by recruits from the Task Force Davao (TFD) within the week.

These TFD recruits, he said, underwent a four-day training on basic traffic implementation.
