Football festival kicks off Dec. 18 By Marianne L. Saberon
THE Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte Christmas Football Festival will kick off December 18 and 19 at the Tionko field in Agro compound.
The Davao Football Association (DFA), which is sanctioning the event, said evens on tap are the ladies open, girls elementary, 15 years old and under (born 1989 and after), 12-under (born 1993 and after) and 8-under.
DFA, however, requires a photocopy of birth certificate and identification card for the age-group participants.
The last day of competition will feature the executive (32-above), men's open divisions 1 and 2 and the boys high school category.
Agusan del Sur, Isulan, Kabacan, Tagum City, Davao del Norte and Asuncion have signified to join the meet presented by Duterte through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office as part of the 2004 Christmas Sportsfest.
The two-day bootfest is still accepting registrants from different clubs, teams, schools, non-government organizations (NGOs) and local government units (LGUs).
Interested participants must confirm their entries on or before December 15.
