Vice mayor urges workers to file complaints
DAVAO City Vice Mayor Luis C. Bonguyan said Saturday he will wait for a formal complaint to be filed before his office against Councilor Wilberto C. Al-ag on alleged "ghost" employees before he will have the matter investigated.
Bonguyan, who is chief executive of the legislative department, said he had already discussed the matter with Al-ag.
"Unless there is a formal complaint, I will conduct an investigation. Kinausap ko rin si Councilor Al-ag after news reports came out about ghost employees. He denied the reports. Councilor Al-ag also identified those who were regarded as ghost employees na mga empleyado niya talaga," Bonguyan said during his birthday celebration with children in San Antonio, Agdao.
Bonguyan believes that there is just a misconception regarding the functions of Paquito Sabas and Virginia Sumile, who are believed to be ghost employees listed under Al-ag's Legislative Special Activity Program (LSAP).
"Hindi naman talaga sila ghost employees. Kapag sinabing ghost employee, fictitious name lang talaga. In this case, may warm bodies naman. According to Councilor Al-ag, may sideline nga raw 'yong empleyado niya. Hindi naman sila pinagbabawalan to have other means of livelihood aside from being LSAP employees," Bonguyan said.
Bonguyan also clarified that LSAP employees are not obliged to report everyday at the office of their employer. (AAG)
