Avisado: No demolition during holiday season
THE City Government of Davao is suspending all inspections and demolitions during the holiday season.
This is to prevent employees from asking solicitations on business establishments and individuals and prevent some Dabawenyos from becoming homeless during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
City Administrator Wendel Avisado said Mayor Rodrigo Duterte issued a memorandum purporting such.
He also said Duterte instructed him to prevent some city hall employees from the "tradition" of asking money from business establishments for their Christmas parties.
In the wake of this development, Avisado said he instructed all department heads that all food preparations for their parties would be shouldered by the City Government and would not need to be passed on to the private sectors.
He said the mayor told him to report all city hall employees that would violate the memorandum order so that punitive actions would be taken against the violators. (BOT)
