Bike-trike collision hurts 4 men

FOUR people were injured, one of whom broke his leg, in a collision between a motorcycle and a trisikad in Bunawan, Davao City, midnight Monday.

Confined at Davao Medical Center (DMC) are Joseph Besera, trisikad driver, his passengers Gilbert Amis, 20, and Justine España, and one Alfredo Corendaen, 20, all residents of Mahayag, Kasilak in Bunawan.

The incident happened at around 12 p.m. when Besera was driving his trisikad with Amis and España onboard.

"Pauli na daw ning duha ka-pasahero gihatod sa trisikad, magkaila ni sila kay taga-didto ni sila sa Bunawan nagapuyo (Amis and España were on their way home onboard the trisikad, they know each other because they were living in the same place)," a security guard at the DMC said.

Besera said Corendaen's motorcycle appeared from nowhere.

"Wala na ko kaikyas kay kalit lang siya nibangga sa amoa (I was not able to avoid him because the motorcycle just hit us)," Besera said.

Besera added that Carendaen was drunk during the incident.

Carendaen broke his left leg, while Besera suffered wounds on his left leg.

Amis and España had wounds on their foreheads, faces and legs.

Besera sought the help of his fellow trisikad drivers who brought them to the DMC for treatment. (JGR)
