Boxingfest at Rizal Park

FUTURE boxing stars will slug it out in the 2004 Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte Pamaskong Handog Boxing Tournament on Friday to Sunday at the Rizal Park.

Tournament coordinator Alex Montejo of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP)-Davao City bared this to Sun.Star Davao in a phone interview Tuesday afternoon.

"The tournament will start Friday at 3 p.m. It is open for 12 to 17 year old boxers," Montejo said.

He said the tournament aims to discover promising talents who have the makings of becoming boxing champions of the future.

"This is an invitational tournament for young players since we hope to seek kids who can be trained for future regional and national competitions," Montejo said.
