Task force urges mall owners: Provide more security men

AMID reports that malls and other business establishments are among the targets of bomb attacks, Task Force Davao (TFD) has urged mall owners to provide additional security personnel aside from the usual guards.

Colonel Eduardo del Rosario, TFD chief, told reporters Thursday that mall owners have agreed to provide security personnel who will be trained and supervised by the TFD.

Del Rosario said each mall in the city is required to have two teams of security personnel. Each team shall be composed of eight members.

"The ordinary security guards are focused on the people entering the mall. Those who will be trained by the TFD will focus outside the building," del Rosario said.

Del Rosario said he already recalled all TFD members who are on leave following Monday's bombing incident near the Dcott.

"Our soldiers are working 24 hours in all areas in the city. I am also appealing to the public to report immediately to the police or call 911 kung may napapansin silang kahina-hinala na galaw ng tao or may makita silang suspicious baggage. Let us all be vigilant," del Rosario said. (AAG)
