Dads join parade

MEMBERS of the 14th City Council Wednesday joined the Araw ng Dabaw parade with the other contingents from various schools, offices and government units, a participation that has not happened for quite some time now.

Councilor Emmanuel Galicia Sr., who is the council's speaker pro tempore, said they had a meeting with Vice Mayor Luis Bonguyan regarding the plan to participate in the parade.

"Wala man mi gipugos na kinahanglang gyud moapil mi sa parade (We were not forced to really join the parade). We were just encouraged to participate," Galicia said.

Aside from Bonguyan and Galicia, also present during the celebrations were Councilors Victorio Advincula Sr., Leonardo Avila III, Conrado Baluran, Domingo Dalodo, Jimmy Dureza, Emmanuel Galicia Sr., Peter Laviña, Rene Elias Lopez, Diosdado Angelo Mahipus Sr., Amilbangsa Manding, Jose Louie Villafuerte, Ma. Belen Sunga-Acosta, Pilar Braga, Paz Mata, Nenita Orcullo, Angela Librado-Trinidad and April Marie Dayap.

Galicia expressed elation that majority of the council members joined together in the celebration of the Araw ng Dabaw.

The councilor expects the same attendance by council members in the Kadayawan Festival in August. (AAG)
