Head-Penn netfest kicks off in Davao

THE first leg of the Head-Penn Junior Tennis Tour kicks off in Davao City on April 5 to 8.

Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice-president Juanito Cansino Jr. recently said the Head-Penn event would be staged after the success of the just-concluded Araw ng Dabaw Age-Group Tennis Championships.

Cansino said, "There are nine legs in the Tour that features 10-under unisex, boys and girls 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under divisions."

From Davao, Cansino said the Tour will proceed to General Santos City on April 9 to 12 then the third leg will be in Cagayan de Oro City on April 18 to 21.

The rest of the Tour: Dumaguete City (fourth leg, April 23 to 25), Bacolod (fifth leg, April 27-April 29), Iloilo (sixth leg, May 1-3), Liloan City (seventh leg, May 5-7), Cebu (eighth leg - May 9-12) and the final leg in Metro Manila on May 17 to 20.

Trophies and Philta ranking points are at stake. (MLS)
