Sailors, Wildcats form DC-Prisaa 5
A CRACK Davao City selection of the Agro-Industrial Foundation College (AIFC) Sailors and University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats will represent Southern Mindanao (SM) Prisaa to the national finals slated April 10 to 16 in Zamboanga City.
This was bared by SM regional athletic manager Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia to Sun.Star Davao recently.
Sarabia said it had been decided by the SM Private Schools Athletic Association (SM-Prisaa) in a recent board meeting that the Sailors-Wildcats DC squad, which ruled the regional elimination held in Tagum, will be the same team to see action in Zamboanga.
Sarabia said reigning DC-Prisaa champion Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders forfeited its slot by not representing the city in the regional meet.
The Crusaders competed in the National Students Basketball Championships in Dumaguete City at the time the SM Prisaa was being conducted in Tagum.
The SM Prisaa contingent aims to better its performance in the coming sportsfest for collegiate athletes. It will also compete in swimming, athletics, volleyball, chess, table tennis, lawn tennis and taekwondo, among others. (MLS)
