'Watch your car' boy gunned down

A "WATCH your car" boy, who was reported to be the companion of a theft suspect killed on January 14, this year, was gunned down by motorcycle-riding gunman along De Guzman Street in Davao City, Saturday night.

Marvin Villaramos, 17, of Toril, was the 57th victim killed vigilante-style this year and the fifth this month.

Inspector Noni Doyo, deputy precinct commander of the Sta. Ana police, said incident happened at around 10:15 p.m. while the victim was standing in front of the San Pedro Hospital.

One Joel, 15, companion of the victim, told police that two men aboard a motorcycle stopped beside Villaramos. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim twice in the head.

Joel said the suspects sped off after the incident, while Villaramos sprawled on the ground bathe in his blood.

Senior Inspector Tomas Dimaandal, medico-legal of Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory, declared Villaramos dead on the spot.

Police recovered an empty shell of a caliber .45 pistol at the scene of crime.

Joel claimed that Villaramos was Tata "Judas" Toco's companion, who was a notorious theft artist.

Toco was killed by unidentified bike-riding men on January 14.

Joel said Villaramos was victimizing high school and college students along the premises of Gaisano Mall and Victoria Plaza.

Police are conducting further investigations to identify the suspects.

On Friday, one Albert Maumbas, 22, stay-in master baker of Sol Bakery in Crossing Matina, this city, was also killed by an unidentified man.

Maumbas was inside the bakery at around 9:40 a.m. when the suspect barged inside and shot him several times.

Maumbas, who succumbed to four gunshot wounds in his head and in his body, was declared dead by the responding policemen.

Talomo police said Maumbas, who was a native of Mati, Davao Oriental, has no police record in their precinct.

One Ludivico Dumero, owner of the bakery, claimed that Maumbas is a good man. (JGR)
