Farmer charged for wife's slay By Raquel C. Bagnol
A FARMER from Paquibato District who was accused of stabbing his wife to death and hacking two other men with a bolo last week is facing multiple criminal charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC).
In a penned resolution dated March 29, assistant city prosecutor Nanette G. Lemana recommended the filing of charges for paricide and frustrated murder against Pablo Villafuerte of Sitio Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City.
The complaint was lodged before the City Prosecutor's Office by 44-year-old Generosa Paner, of the same place.
In her affidavit, Paner said that at around 3:30 p.m. on March 21, Villafuerte allegedly went amok and hacked his wife Patricia several times. Paner is Patricia's sister.
Paner also said that Villafuerte hacked her husband Felicisimo and another man identified as Manuelito Singson before surrendering himself to sitio leader Mario Largo.
A farmer who claimed that he saw the incident said that he was just a few meters away when he saw Villafuerte chase his wife before hacking her with a 19-inch bolo.
His wife succumbed to multiple stab wounds in different parts of her body.
Paner said they spent more than P20,000 for Patricia's burial.
Lemana recommended a bailbond of P200,000 for Villafuerte's temporary freedom.
