DAVAO City's Business Bureau chief Erwin Alparaque announced Monday a 15-percent increase in the collection of fees and charges from the renewal and application of new business permits.

Alparaque said the bureau was able to collect a total of P186.9 million during the first quarter of this year.

"The instruction of Mayor (Rodrigo) Duterte to conduct inventory of businesses in every barangay helped in the increase of the number of applications for business permits. Those that were discovered operating without a permit now have already secured a business permit," Alparaque said.

Alparaque said the bureau received 25,700 applications for business permits, 21,100 of which were approved including 4,000 new applications.

"Aside from the inventory conducted in every barangay, the one-stop-shop system was also a factor kaya nag-increase ang number ng mga applications for business permit. It's now easy for the applicants to process the requirements kasi ang mga concerned agencies na kailangan nila nasa iisang lugar na lang.

They don't have to go from one building to another para lang i-process ang mga kailangang papeles," Alparaque said.

He said one-stop-shop system was established through the passage of a city ordinance by the city council and approved by Duterte.
