Milkfish suppliers to attend gab By Jenny Molbog-Mendoza
REPRESENTATIVES from the regional office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) 11, together with the fingerling suppliers and key players in the region's bangus (milkfish) industry, will fly to Dagupan City to attend the 2nd National Bangus Congress and Exhibition slated from April 28 to 29.
This biennial event will bring together prime movers in the industry to discuss ways and means to address the pressing issues and identify strategies that will enhance the global competitiveness of the industry.
This is the vision of its theme "Unifying the bangus industry towards global competitiveness".
Erlinda Ali, officer-in-charge of the Extension Training and Communication Division of Bfar-11, said in an interview Monday that the major output of the event is the drafting of an action plan by all the bangus stakeholders.
The action plan will then be incorporated in the Philippine Bangus Masterplan.
The event is expected to gather around 300 participants coming from the different sectors of the industry throughout the country.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will grace the event.
