Buhangin 5 edges rival
BARANGAY Buhangin outsteadied Barangay Waan, 61-59, in the dying seconds to tally its third straight victory in the 2005 Duterte Basketball League-Buhangin District Inter-Barangay elimination Sunday night at the Buhangin covered court.
Barangay Waan absorbed its fourth setback in five games of the tournament presented by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Barangays Pampanga (2-1) and Sasa (4-0), on the other hand, won by default over Acacia (0-7) and Mandug (0-7), respectively.
Tigatto remained the other undefeated team with three wins earning the third victory on the no-show of Barangay Indangan (1-4).
At the Bunawan covered court for the Bunawan District elimination, Brgy. Tibungco (4-0) nailed its fourth victory by crushing Barangay Ilang (1-2), 11-72, while Barangay Panacan (2-1) drubbed Barangay Bunawan (1-2), 90-85 for its first win after two straight setbacks.
At the GSIS Matina covered court for the Talomo District elimination, Barangay Talomo Proper (3-0) earned its third victory by beating Barangay Matina Aplaya (1-3), 87-68.
