Soldier killed in Kapalong

AN ARMY soldier was shot dead Friday by a suspected rebel in Kapalong, Davao del Norte, while the victim was helping the suspect carry his things.
Reports from Kapalong Police identified the victim as Corporal Cresidelio Magduce from the 27th Infantry Battalion based in Pikit, North Cotabato.
It was learned that Magduce was detailed as a security escort of his cousin who owns a hardware in Kapalong.
Last Friday evening, the still unidentified suspect reportedly bought construction materials at that hardware and Magduce went out to help the suspect carry the items he bought.
As he was doing this, however, the unidentified man shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.
The suspect casually walked away and boarded a motorcycle. So far no motive was established by police investigators.
