'PPS' finalists in memento album
Pinoy Pop Superstar, The Finalists album is now out in the market
IN EARNEST belief of molding the next singing superstar, GMA Records releases the memento album of the flagship talent search in the country today, Pinoy Pop Superstar, which is now on its second year.
Pinoy Pop Superstar is hosted by Regine Velasquez, a seasoned singing competition winner and dubbed as Asia's songbird.
The search opens its door to amateur singers aged 15 to 21 years old. Hopefuls endure the competitive auditions and rigorous trainings before being given the rare privilege to be a legitimate contender.
Pinoy Pop Superstar has produced six grand contenders from all walks of life coming from different parts of the country.
Heartthrob balladeer Michael Garcia, power belter Kristel Astor, singing sweetheart Charmaine Piamonte, passionate performer MC Monterola. RnB sensation Brenan Espartinez, and soul princess Jonalyn Viray were the six much-loved grand contenders from the Philippines.
PPS has also produced two more grand contenders from North America where a parallel search is also being conducted from among Filipino communities. Singing idol Philbert de Torres from Canada and sultry siren Sheila Ferrari from Los Angeles, California emerged as North America's bets for the elusive title.
At stake for the grand showdown, which was held at the Araneta Coliseum last May 8, was an exciting prize package consisting of a brand new house and lot, a top-of-the-line car, P1 million in cash and exclusive recording contract under GMA Records which was bagged by the first Pinoy Pop Superstar grand winner, Jonalyn Viray.
Pinoy Pop Superstar The Finalists album features the six winning contest pieces of each contender from the Philippines including "If You're Not The One" by Michael Garcia, "If You Don't My By Now" by Kristel Astor, "I Believe" by Charmaine Piamonte, "Through the Fire" by MC Monterola, "Home" by Brenan Espartinez and "It Might Be You" by Jonalyn Viray plus the theme of the show, "My Miracle" sung by the six final contenders from the Philippines and written by Raul Mitra, who is also the album producer.
Pinoy Pop Superstar The Finalists album is available on CDs in all leading record stores nationwide only from GMA Records.
