Taxi fleet owner robbed, abducted By Joy G. Romares
FOUR unidentified men kidnapped a Chinese mestiza, who owns a 16-unit fleet of taxis, after robbing her at her home in Delta Homes, Matina, on Wednesday night.
The abductors, however, have not yet contacted the family of the victim.
The victim was identified as Maricris Te, 32, of Emerald Street, Delta Homes Subdivision in Matina. She operates the Mendory Taxi.
Te's household helper identified as Analisa Metoda told Talomo police that her employer was already resting at home at around 10:40 p.m. as it has been a few hours already since the last taxi driver remitted his day's rental.
Metoda said the taxi drivers remit their rental at around 8:30 p.m. every night.
She added that four armed men clad in black jackets and wearing ski masks barged in and demanded valuables from Te. In fear, Te gave the men money and her jewelry.
The men then tied up her co-household helper, Maricris Menrico, and locked her inside her bedroom, while holding both Metoda and Te immobile by pointing their guns at them.
Just before leaving, the robbers let go of Metoda and forced Te into a vehicle.
Police learned Te has a live-in partner, a Japanese named Akira Aquino, who left for Japan Wednesday afternoon.
