Davao Region wins anew
By Charles Raymond A. Maxey

THE Davao Region is indeed back in the thick of things in secondary football in the Palarong Pambansa. Thanks to Joey Arobo and Mark Fernandez.

Arobo and Fernandez again rose to the occasion as the pair scored a goal each to power the Davao Region past Region 4A Thursday, 2-1, at the La Paz Plaza in Iloilo.

It was the third victory for the Davao Region, represented here by Davao City booters, after earlier toppling Region 10 and Region 4B.

Davao, after an opening-day loss, has chalked up three straight wins, including a 4-1 penalty shootout triumph Wednesday afternoon.

Arobo and Fernandez were the scorers when Davao Region plastered Region 10.

Against Region 4A, they again came to the team's rescue.

Arobo broke the ice in the 20th, while Fernandez made it 2-0 for Davao with a strike in the 57th.

Region 4A averted a shutout when it scored late in the match.
