Santos enters semis

DAVAO City netter El Santo Santos barged into the boys 16-under semi-finals after beating Gian Aguila 6-1, 6-0 retire in the ongoing 2005 Head Penn Tennis Tour ninth leg at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila Thursday.

Santos, a Rizal Memorial Colleges player who bagged a bronze medal in the just-concluded Palarong Pambansa in Iloilo, will face a still undetermined opponent in the semis round.

He is among the four Dabawenyos competing in the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned netfest sponsored by the Dynamic Sports Corporation.

RP Junior team member Ralph Kevin Barte is seeing action in boys 21-under while Ateneo de Davao University mainstays Juan Paolo Cansino and Andrei Dizon are entered in boys 12-under and 14-under events.

The champions will receive Head tennis bags, equipment and trophies while the runners-up will settle for Penn official balls and medals. (MLS)
