Davao tankers in Brunei meet
By Charles Raymond A. Maxey

FOUR swimmers from Davao City led by Palarong Pambansa triple-gold medallist Celina Gonzalez are set to leave for Brunei this week to compete in the Southeast Asian age-group swimming competition from June 2-4.

Gonzalez splashed her way to three golds in the girls elementary division, making her the best performer from the Davao Region in Iloilo City.

Joining Gonzalez in the Brunei meet are Alyanna Malabanan, Jose Joaquin Gonzalez and Francis Isaguerre.

Dedee Gonzalez of the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association-Davao City chapter and coach Jun Rodriguez will also join the swimmers.

Malabanan also annexed a gold in the Palaro, ruling the 50-meter backstroke, while Joboy Gonnzalez brought home a silver. Isaguerre also won a bronze.

The four are all members of the Philippine junior swim team.
