There were five fatalities of the 308.
Davao del Sur had the least number with just 22 of the total 538 cases. Compostela Valley province reported 27; Davao del Norte, 89, and Davao Oriental, 92. All provinces, except Compostela Valley had one fatality each.
The bulk of the suspected dengue cases were reported in January with 221. This went down to 184 in February and 133 in March.
The Department of Health (DOH) advises the people to clean their surroundings thoroughly everyday to drive away mosquitoes carrying this disease.
In an earlier interview, Anna Remolar, public information officer of DOH, said that there are two kinds of dengue: the classical and hemorrhagic.
The symptoms of a classical dengue, Remolar said, is fever coupled with muscle and joint pains and vomiting, while the hemmorhagic dengue manifests all the symptoms with bleeding of the nose and gums.
Remolar also named six dengue hotspots in the city: Agdao, Toril, Buhangin, Sasa, Talomo north and Talomo south.
