2-day bikefest in Nabunturan
IT'S all systems go for the Nabunturan Challenge-1st Congressman Amatong Mountain Bike Competition on July 23 and 24 in an out-and-back course from Nabunturan, Compostela Valley.
The event features the flat track event unreeling on the first day of competition while the open cross-country and recreational touring categories are set on the second day.
BMX riders from all over Mindanao will pedal their way in the oval circuit of the flat track competition.
The recreational touring or fun ride will have the fun ride A for male riders below 40 years old and fun ride B for all lady riders, male riders 40-above and male riders above 85 kgs.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the open winners of the race organized by the Office of Representative Prospero Amatong in cooperation with the local government of Nabunturan.
The champion will get P6,000 while the runner-up will receive P4,000. The next three finishers will settle for P3,000, P2,000 and P1,500, respectively.
The sixth to 10th placers will take home P1,000 each. Medals will also be given away to the top 10 riders of the event organized as part of the 48th foundation anniversary celebration of the Municipality of Nabunturan.
The youngest, heaviest, lightest, best father and child finish and the best husband and wife finish will also receive awards. A cash prize of P2,500 awaits the largest delegation.

The PNOC-EDC/Mambo will provide the technical assistance with the Federation of Off-Road Cycling Enthusiasts (Force) also giving support. (MLS)
