Ayang's Catering 1 leads bowlfest

THE Ayang's Catering 1 had 4,526 pinfalls after eight games to lead commercial division of the 20th Kadayawan Open Bowling Tournament 2005 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Saturday night.

The Dabawenyo Bowlers Association (DBA) pulled off a surprise to secure the second spot by hitting 4,075 pinfalls in the month-long event.

Occupying third is Adeding's Meat followed by Hannah's in fourth, D' Victors 2 fifth, Polyprod sixth, Orange Grove seventh, Ayang's 2 eighth, D Victors 1 ninth and Fairlanes 10th.

Powerhouse Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 11 led the government category with 4,285 pinfalls followed by the Davao City Water District, which scored 4,079, in second and DA-Quarantine was third with 3,827.

The Davao City Government, Department of Education-Davao City Division, City Planning, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)11, Davao City Hall Employees Association (Dachea) Ladies, BFAR and Barangay Talomo trailed behind.

Team Tangem struck for a total of 4,090 pinfalls for the top spot in the non-government division, while EMS-alsons hit 4,002 for second and DFI-A scored 3,972 for third place.

The Union Galvasteel (3,095) and Petron (3,767) are in fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

The Fedco, PJAC, Davao Light and Power Corporation, dFI-B, Grand Logistics, Victoria Plaza, Bravorm Engineering, Philippine Long Distance Company and Anflocor teams will have to catch up to make it to the top four.

The first four squads in each category will advance to the step-the-ladder championship round that stakes a cash prize of P10,000 for the champion teams.

The bowlfest is organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club and co-sponsored by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Philippine Sports Commission. MLS
